đž Caring for Your Dog Naturally During Cold Weather âď¸đś

As temperatures drop, our furry companions can become more vulnerable to respiratory issues like coughing and throat irritationâjust like we do. While medications have their place, I always recommend starting with gentle, natural remedies to support your petâs recovery.
One of my go-to treatments for a dogâs cough is Marshmallow Leaf Tea. Itâs a time-tested herbal remedy known for its soothing properties, and itâs safe for dogs when used appropriately. Hereâs how I prepare it:

đż Natural Cough Remedy for Dogs
â What You’ll Need:
- Dried marshmallow leaves
- Warm (not hot) water
- Optional: Raw honey and homemade low-sodium chicken broth
đŤ How to Prepare:
- Steep the Tea: Add marshmallow leaves to warm water and let them steep for about 15 minutes. This allows the healing properties to infuse into the water.
- Strain and Serve: Remove the leaves and let the tea cool to a drinkable temperature for your dog.
- Add Honey (if needed): For persistent coughs, mix in a generous spoonful of raw honey. Itâs a natural antibiotic and does wonders to soothe sore throats.
- Flavor It Up: If your dog turns up their nose at the tea, try adding a bit of homemade low-sodium chicken broth. Boiling plain chicken at home (no onions, garlic, or salt!) is a simple way to make broth theyâll love.
This gentle remedy helps clear the lungs and eases throat discomfort. Most importantly, it gives your pet some relief without immediately resorting to pharmaceuticals.
đ Remember: Always monitor your dogâs symptoms. If the cough persists or worsens, itâs important to consult with your veterinarian.
