Kinder Bueno & Nutella Cake

Ingredients

Cake:

  • 1¾ cups (220g) all-purpose flour
  • 1¼ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup (180ml) milk

Nutella Frosting:

  • 1 cup (240g) Nutella
  • ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1½ cups (180g) powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tbsp heavy cream or milk

Extras:

  • 4–6 Kinder Bueno bars, chopped roughly
  • ½ cup chopped hazelnuts or crushed wafer cookies (optional)

Instructions

1. Bake the Cake

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 8-inch round cake pans.
  • In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla extract.
  • Alternately add flour mixture and milk, beginning and ending with flour, mixing until just combined.
  • Divide batter evenly between pans.
  • Bake 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Cool completely on wire racks.

2. Prepare Nutella Frosting

  • Beat softened butter until smooth.
  • Add Nutella and blend until creamy.
  • Gradually add powdered sugar, then 2 tbsp cream, beating until smooth and spreadable.
  • Add more cream if needed.

3. Assemble the Cake

  • Place one cake layer on serving plate.
  • Spread a thick layer of Nutella frosting.
  • Sprinkle chopped Kinder Bueno pieces and hazelnuts or wafer crumbs on top.
  • Place second layer on top.
  • Frost the top and sides with remaining frosting.
  • Decorate the top with Kinder Bueno bars (whole or chopped).

Tips:

  • Chill the cake for 30 minutes before serving to set the frosting.
  • Use chilled Nutella frosting to help it hold shape for piping decorations.
  • Add a drizzle of melted chocolate on top for extra flair.
